Back in the early heydays of Rock Band (around 2010) we decided to make our own guitar and produced a few prototypes but never brought it to market. 3D-printing wasn’t mainstream yet and so we were machining the parts from solid wood and aluminum and the costs were pretty high so we didn’t think there was much of a market for it since you could get a new (plastic) guitar for about $35, so we shelved the project.
Years later things have changed dramatically and we’re bringing back the guitar project as the OFMG guitar, which uses 3D-printed plastic parts and laser-cut wood panels.
