Installation Instructions

The DUO installation is similar to the standard Strum Fix Plus installation, but with a few minor differences. The main difference is that there are the DUO has “jumpers” to set the strumming direction for the 2nd strum bar. See below for jumper settings.

NOTE: A special adapter (the PBA) is required to install a Strum Fix Plus (including the DUO) in a Fender Precision Bass replica guitar so be sure to order one if you are want to install a Strum Fix Plus in a Precision Bass guitar.

Jumper settings on the Strum Fix Plus DUO let you select how the 2nd strum bar behaves — you can select ‘normal’ or ‘inverted’ strum action to emulate either the original or later versions of the Rock Band Fender Precision Bass guitar. See this blog post for details: DUO Jumper Settings.

DUO Jumper Settings

The DUO has “jumper blocks” on the circuit board that are used to configure the behavior of the strummer. There are basically two options:

  • Configure the DUO so each of the 2 strum bars activate the up or down switches in the same direction. This means when you strum down on either strum bar it will activate the “down” strum.

  • Configure the DUO so the strum bars activate the switches in opposite directions. This means that if you strum down on both strum bars at the same time, one will activate the “down” strum, the other will activate the “up” strum.
